What is Asked of Sunshine Parents

Parent involvement is one of the ways in which Sunshine invites families to be a part of the school and its community, and to build connections to each other. We look for families who are willing to share the gift of their time within the school. Reading a book, cooking with the class, or sharing personal interests with the children provides a way to take part in the classroom. Leadership in areas of parent education, fundraising and volunteer coordination support the school in many essential ways. Each of these opportunities links parents to each other and provides a strong model to the children about what it means to be an active member of a community. We look for families who are invested in education, who will contribute to our community, and who value a creative and lively academic and nurturing social milieu of learning for their children.
